Longarm Quilting Again!

The Sometimes Crafter | Gammill Statler Stitcher

I’ve been waiting years to get a new longarm.  I’m so glad that it’s finally here.  I’ve been learning how it works and have started to learn AutoSketch so I can design my own patterns for it.  The computer is fun and i’m glad to have it, but quilting free-motion is fantastic.  It’s so light and smooth running.  I went with the biggest model, the 30″, and was a little worried about being able to maneuver it because of it’s size, but there was no need to worry about that.  It does have a power assist option so I can free-motion quilt while it’s still on the belts, but honestly I much prefer to use it off the belts and moving it around is no problem.

It just arrived on Sunday, and i’ve been sick all week, so I haven’t played around with it a whole lot yet, but I did manage to quickly try some quilt-doodled feathers.  There was no plan, I just turned the machine on and started “drawing”.  I’m excited for all the possibilities with this machine, and feel like I can really take my quilting to the next level and quilt as I have always wanted to quilt.  With that said, I’m back in business.  I already have a few weeks wait, so if you are interested in having me quilt a quilt for you, now’s the time.  Quilts have started to arrive and i’m ready to be back to quilting!
