AGF Stitched // Blithe Quilt

March 7, 2016

Another year of AGF Stitched has started up!  If you aren’t familiar with AGF Stitched, it’s a collaboration between Art Gallery Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop.  Each quarter a group of select bloggers makes a set pattern with Art Gallery Fabrics of our choosing, and Fat Quarter Shop puts together a video tutorial for making the quilt.  Our first quilt for this year is the Blithe Quilt, which is available as a free download at Fat Quarter Shop.

This was another quilt that used Triangles On A Roll, which have become an absolute favorite of mine!   I just finished up my first roll of 2-1/2″ Triangles On A Roll last week – that’s 700 half square triangles I made in a year!  This quilt uses the 6″ half square triangles and they are just as easy to use and had this quilt coming together in no time at all.  Between cutting and sewing I think I spent about 3 evenings working on it, and then another few hours getting it quilted.

For my quilt I chose Bari J’s Mille Fleur line, which turned out even better than I hoped.  They were wonderful prints for this quilt.  I quilted it with a fun pattern called Wishbone #2.  It worked out beautifully with the fabrics.  Be sure to check out all the other participants in this quarters AGF Stitched on the Jolly Jabber blog.
