Hi, i’m Christina, the person behind Sometimes Crafter Studio. I run my small business from my studio on our property in rural SW Washington. I am an author, pattern writer, illustrator and longarm quilter. I homeschool my son on our small homestead and spend time canning our harvest, foraging from our woods and working around the property when I’m not in the studio.

I've been adding new vinyl stickers to the shop, this is the latest. I have so much just sitting on my iPad, so I'm trying to do something with everything. Years worth of designs finally coming out in the open to be shared. Stickers and Spoonflower fabric so far, perhaps more to come. I share my drawing over at @christinalanecreates #vinylstickers

Pulled out a test print of my Spoonflower fabric offerings to see if I had printed my pumpkins yet, and Mabel decided it was a nice spot to lay down. I guess I better quilt this as-is for a dog bed for her in the studio. If you missed my stories a few weeks ago, I now have a lot of my designs up on Spoonflower to purchase. #goldenretriever #spoonflower #fabric

✨️New vinyl sticker added to my Etsy shop!✨️ This little hoodie has been sitting drawn up in Procreate for awhile and I finally sent it off to the printers. I use an off site printer for my vinyl stickers and they are the best quality. Weatherproof and waterproof, with a satiny matte finish. I use all of my stickers on my own travel coffee mugs and water bottles and they never fade or peel. #vinylstickers #sticker #waterbottlestickers #quiltstickers

Someone mentioned using a rotating mat with this r

Someone mentioned using a rotating mat with this ruler. I didn't think about sliding it down the seam after turning, but I still am frustrated by it. You can see after a few blocks I show using it in real-time and I'm chasing down my block while I try and slide along the seam. I finally just get fed up. There is something for everyone and my something is Triangles On A Roll. I made these HSTs years ago before the roll was available, otherwise I wouldn't even be trying this ruler out. Someone mentioned Quilt-In-A-Day's HST ruler and I'll be giving that a go next time I make HSTs. I still think if you're interested in this you should try and find a friend with one to test it out, you may love it, but I'm just not finding a rhythm to make it work for me. #bloclocruler #quiltingtools #quiltingruler #quiltmaking #quiltersofinstagram

Trying out a Bloc-Loc ruler since I have about 150

Trying out a Bloc-Loc ruler since I have about 150 HSTs to trim. This is the 6.5" ruler, and while it is nice how it snaps to the diagonal angle, it doesn't actually save me any time or enough pain in my hands having to hold it in place. I still have to have a pretty firm grip on it and I found it to be pretty fiddly with getting it into place and then having to turn it when I turn the block. At $30, this is a pass for me, but it is really nice how it snaps to the seam. I'm sure with time I'd find a bit more rhythm and streamline the process, but with having to turn the ruler each cut, I can't see that adding up to saved time. And again, still lots of pressure, so lots of pain in my hands. If you ever have a chance to test one out, your should, you never know, it might be perfect for you! #bloclocruler #quiltingtools #quiltingrulers #quiltrulers #quilting
