A recent quilt loaded on the frame. I had to adjus A recent quilt loaded on the frame. I had to adjust the backing a few times to get the right tension. I think this was about 30 mins total, there's bits I cut out, like moving the camera, turning my computer on, fussing with batting placement... I was able to float this top, so I got right to quilting after basting the top section square.

I finished this quilt for @gin4g2013 a few months I finished this quilt for @gin4g2013 a few months ago now, but haven't had a chance to post full photos yet. She asked for a custom design and wanted to accentuate the waves of the Storm at Sea pattern. I wanted to keep it somewhat of a block design for ease of quilting down the quilt. Since the waves are on a diagonal I can't go from one end to the next in a single pass like you might be able to with a domestic (at least not without a lot of drop-needle-advance-quilt going on). I wanted everything to work so that for each run the stops and starts worked well with the next roll of the quilt. I worked the designs within the piecing, having a "block" in the circle shape that alternated in each row. Between those were the wave designs that worked down across the top. It's hard to explain in words but if you study the photos I think you might get an idea for it. The "blocks" are the straight lines and the waves are the swirls and bubbles (to go with the sea theme, of course).

I just finished up a custom for one of my longtime I just finished up a custom for one of my longtime clients. She was open to edge-to-edge or custom, and normally I end up saying "let's do e2e", but this time I thought it really needed to be custom. Luckily she agreed! It took a little bit to come up with a design I liked, but I think this ended up being a perfect compliment to the piecing. I had to custom design everything to fit the non traditional shapes, but the classic cathedral window really works so well in the black areas. I especially love how the white areas turned out, and how the feathers form a ring around the black piecing. #longarmquilting #CustomQuilting #sometimescrafterlongarmquilting #longarmquilterforhire #Quiltersofinstagram
Loading a Museum Steps quilt onto the frame. I thi Loading a Museum Steps quilt onto the frame. I think it takes me longer to edit the video than it does to load a quilt. 🥴 Loved the fabrics on this and loved that we went with a green thread. It popped in the best way on the grey fabric and worked well on the pink. Quilt by @jenny.l.barrett
I'm going to try and catch up and share some recen I'm going to try and catch up and share some recent quilts, because I haven't been the best about being active on my main feed. Stories are another thing, I'm always sharing bits there. This is @jenny.l.barrett quilt and I absolutely love the traditional, two color quilts. I suggested a simple pattern for it, and I think the Modern Twist loops were perfect. #LongarmQuilting #longarmquilter #longarmersofinstagram #traditionalquilt #solidquilt
An end of an era. Brice turned 18 Friday. 12 years An end of an era. Brice turned 18 Friday. 12 years of homeschooling coming to and end. Time to clear off the homeschool cart and find new duties for it. Birthdays were never hard for me, but this one was.
