I finally started working on @gin4g2013 Amish With I finally started working on @gin4g2013 Amish With A Twist 2 quilt and I'm loving how it's coming together. I decided to quilt the inside blocks first, then I'll quilt the top and bottom borders and rotate the quilt to do the side borders. This quilt has a large main border and then two narrower shashings. I always go back and forth on the best way to do quilts with borders, but this felt like the right plan this time. I'm going to make all the designs from this quilt available after I finish it. The last slide is the quilting plan for this. I always keep a printout of what I'm doing to reference and I went ahead and laminated it so it stays flat and easy to handle.

An hour of work condensed into 90 seconds. Drawing An hour of work condensed into 90 seconds. Drawing over my designs from Procreate in Illustrator, then exporting to finish up in PS Designer. Batting is finally on its way so I should be starting on this custom next week. #longarmquiltersofinstagram #longarmquilter
There have been some new vinyl stickers additions There have been some new vinyl stickers additions to the shop lately. I'm not the best at sharing updates. This is one of them and I love it! Probably my favorite to date. #quiltstickers #quiltersofinstagram
I'm finishing up work on designs for the next cust I'm finishing up work on designs for the next custom, wondering what the process looks like for others. I've always been someone that likes to share the process (usually forgetting to share the final product). I usually start off drawing in Procreate, starting with fast doodles, and then refined sketches once I have the plan. Then I bring those into Illustrator and vectorize the designs with the pen tool, drawing over my sketches. I do this both on my PC and iPad. Using the pen tool on my iPad is nice, but I'm use to working with a mouse on my computer, too, and I'm sometimes just as quick with that. After I'm done in Illustrator I bring the file into the quilting design program and do any final clean up that needs doing. I use to design right in my longarm systems CAD program, Creative Studio, but now I use Pro Stircher so I can save to all different formats to share. This works pretty good for me, but I'm sure there's faster ways. I know some design right in the quilting software, but after almost 30 years working in Illustrator I find that to be a bit faster for me. #longarmquilting
I had a request for printables of my quilting desi I had a request for printables of my quilting designs, so I have been working on creating something. It's not something I would use myself, so I'm curious if it is something you would use, what would you like to see, as far as usability goes? I'm thinking of including two options, one for longarm quilters that would print and place on their table and use a laser to follow, and a 2nd option for domestic quilters that place it on their piece and stitch over it. I'm also thinking since designs like this have some backtracking, having guiding arrows to show the direction the path goes might be helpful. If you're someone that might be interested in printable pantographs I'd love to hear what you would need/find helpful. #longarmquilting #pantograph #pantographquilting
Getting back to trimming these HSTs when I'm waiti Getting back to trimming these HSTs when I'm waiting on projects around the studio. It's slow, but I think I've found a good rhythm with the HST ruler. I would really like them done because I have two projects planned for them and I'm excited to get them on the longarm and quilted! #hsts #patchwork #quilting
