Quilting The Day Away
It has been cold and snowy here these past few days, but I didn’t mind one bit. I have been thoroughly enjoying quilting on my new machine. It has opened up so many more possibilities for me and i’m so excited to explore them all. I’m really glad to have a quilt waiting in the wings that needed some custom quilting attention. I am so excited to see this one quilted, and it’s such a bummer I have to wait a little while before I can share it all with you. I may not be able to share the whole quilt, but I couldn’t resist sharing some peeks at the quilting.
I love the precision that using the Statler offers. I also love being able to create my own designs in AutoSketch. I have an exciting quilting project on the horizon and will be making the quilting pattern myself to run on the Statler (which is the computer part of the Gammill). I love a good challenge!
This is a peek out to our backyard and woods. We finally built Brice a playhouse/treehouse/Minecraft house late this summer, but the weather turned on us before we could get it painted and sealed up. Luckily the siding is treated fence planks, so it should be fine until next summer, in the meantime, I love the contrast of the cedar and the snow. We might just have to leave the exterior unpainted and just sealed. The view out of my quilting studio is to that corner of the yard, which will be fantastic come summer when Brice is out there playing and i’m inside working. It’s always nice to be able to keep an eye on him. Not to say he hasn’t been having a blast out there in the winter as well. I’m sure you can just imagine how much a 5-year-old loves to slide down into the snow.

I love my Statler. I create my own patterns in Creative Studios.

I was having an easier time creating in AutoSketch than in Creative Studio. I know they are basically the same thing, but I will have to mess around in Creative Studio a little more. I really wish I could just design it all in Illustrator. I’d be set then!

I wanted to let you know your playhouse inspired my son to finally make mine. They just have to raise mine now and put the slide on. I have 4 new grandaughters and 3 grandson all under 5, I will have alot of memories in this little house.

I love looking outside and seeing him play pretend when he doesn’t know i’m watching. We had planned on getting this up two years ago and I wish it hadn’t taken us so long, but I know he will still have years of fun out there. We have some swings and the such to add on, even a pole to slide down, we just have to figure out where it’s all going to go now that the structure is built. :)
