Remember the days when I use to blog daily…yeah, me either. It’s been so long since I’ve done any regular blogging and every year I tell myself this is the year I get back on track. It just never seems to happen. Social media has taken a backseat to actual life more and more every year. I had a Facebook for years and I officially got rid of it two…
Quilting Sea Glass
Good afternoon! It’s sunny and bright here in the Pacific Northwest today and i’m feeling so productive, so I thought while I had a quilt going in the background i’d take a moment to pop in and show you some photos of Amy Friend’s Sea Glass Quilt I quilted for her last winter. Its one of many quilts in her new book Improv Paper Piecing.
Custom Half Square Triangles
I’m a little behind on sharing quilts – but when am I not behind when it comes to blogging. I didn’t want to let anymore time pass without sharing Meredith Hobb’s gorgeous quilt. She designed this and asked me to do some custom quilting on it, which I was more than excited to do.
Cactus Garden Quilt Pattern
I just released my latest quilt pattern last night: Cactus Garden. All those little crown points reminded me of succulents and cactus spikes, and bringing them all together seemed like a garden of cacti. I actually had this about 3/4 of the way done and then set it aside and forgot about it. So here it is, two years later and I finally finished it up. I still love the…
Quilting a January Quilt
I quilted this quilt back in December for Melissa Everett. (It’s the January Quilt pattern by Lady Havertine.) This past week she entered this in the Smoky Mountain Quilter’s Quilt Show (with a couple other beauties) and it won Honorable Mention in ‘Large 2 Person Team’ and also won the ‘Modern Quilt Award’. I think it’s well deserved for all of those pieced curves!
Star Bright Star White Quilting
I often forget about quilts I’ve quilted that are meant for publication. From the time I see it until it’s out there for the world to see is usually at least a year, and often longer. As is the case with this beautiful quilt. Rebecca Bryan of Bryan House Quilts contacted me last year to see if I could quilt this for her. It is in the most recent issue…
Quilting Anna’s < > Quilt
Today i’m sharing photos of Anna’s < > Quilt from her new book Handmade Style. I just love the simplicity of this quilt! It’s so “Dutch Modern” to me, and perfectly fits Anna’s style. I wasn’t at all surprised when I pulled this top out to quilt. Anna and I talked briefly about the pattern and both arrived at this simple design. The design is a simple repeat that I drew…
Quilting Up and Down
Today I wanted to share with you the quilting I did on Anna Graham’s “Up and Down” quilt in her newly released book – Handmade Style: 23 Must-Have Basics to Stitch, Use and Wear. Without a doubt, I knew this quilt had to have a custom quilting, not just in style but the designs as well. Every bit of quilting was designed by me and drawn up in AutoSketch (which…
Quilting A Meadow Quilt
This is going to be a picture heavy post today. More often than not lately it seems i’m doing a lot of “custom” quilting. What that usually entails is a few different designs in different places on the quilt, some quilts more intricate than others. This quilt happened to be my favorite type of custom quilting, the kind where a client says “Do whatever you want! Surprise me!” We talk…
