    Modern Medallion Workbook

    Sometimes Crafter May 14, 2015

When Janice and Beth asked me to submit ideas for their Modern Medallion Workbook they were putting together, I was a little stumped as to what I would do.  I had never seriously thought about making a medallion quilt, let alone designing one.  It was a challenge, and I love challanges.  My life was really hectic at the time, and I wasn’t sure if I could fit it in, but i’m…

  • Improv Diamonds Quilt

    Sometimes Crafter April 4, 2015

I started this quilt two years ago as a baby shower gift.  I don’t have a lot of friends from my school days, but Betsy is one i’ve known since she came to our high school as a Freshman.  I was a year ahead and a teacher assistant in one of her classes, and it was through that class we became friends.  I can’t remember the reason, but I wasn’t…

  • AGF Stitched – Birchen Quilt

    Sometimes Crafter February 23, 2015

I had this lengthy post all written up about his quilt, and using the Triangles on a Roll, and how Art Gallery Fabric and Fat Quarter Shop have teamed up to do a video series called AGF Stitched….and then the post decided not to auto save and I lost it all.  I really hate when that happens.  I’m going to do my best to reconstruct what I said, and ignore…

  • Quilting A Fight Song

    Sometimes Crafter February 13, 2015

As Christmas was approaching I had an email asking if I was still accepting quilts returned in time for Christmas gifting.  It just so happens that I was, but just barley.  Jennifer asked if I could quilt the chorus from the University of Michigan fight song onto a quilt she made for her son, who is currently a student there.  I just love being a part of a gift like…

    Gallifreyan Quilting

    Sometimes Crafter July 2, 2014

I’m a huge Doctor Who fan.  I’ve been watching it since I was a little girl and it aired on PBS.  I don’t remember much of the original Doctor Who, but i’ve watched all of the newer ones since they began airing.  I’m actually a season behind right now.  I hate to watch knowing it will end.  I also have a hard time watching, knowing that I will need to…

  • Star Quilt Custom Quilting

    Sometimes Crafter June 23, 2014

I just finished quilting this beautiful star quilt that Beca made. This was a custom quilting job – boarders, sashing and blocks were all quilted separately.  The fabrics were just beautiful and I especially loved that the “background” fabric was a tiny print.  It was such a sweet quilt.  I took many photos of it and the quilting.  Unfortunately, my SD Card must have a bad sector and almost all of the photos I…

  • Geometric Quilting

    Sometimes Crafter June 3, 2014

I just had the opportunity to quilt an amazing quilt for a good friend.  It is so hard not being able to share the quilt and it’s quilting with you!  I am grateful for friends that like my quilting ideas and let me run free with them.  This was a beautifully graphical quilt and I loved how the graphical quilting turned out.  Even more than that, I love getting to be…

  • Quilting The Day Away

    Sometimes Crafter February 10, 2014

It has been cold and snowy here these past few days, but I didn’t mind one bit.  I have been thoroughly enjoying quilting on my new machine.  It has opened up so many more possibilities for me and i’m so excited to explore them all.  I’m really glad to have a quilt waiting in the wings that needed some custom quilting attention.  I am so excited to see this one…
