A few months before I quilted Angela’s fox quilt, I quilted her Cheerio quilt. I loved all of her fabric choices, and while this was the first time i’d seen this quilt pattern, I thought the fabrics worked perfectly with it. It’s a Thimble Blossom pattern, and when I think of Angela’s style, I can’t help but think of Camille Roskelley, too. I gave Angela a few designs to choose from, that I thought would work well for the quilting of…

Quilting Foxes
I quilted this adorable fox quilt back in April for Angela. It is baby size, and was such a fast quilt, that I didn’t even get anything on Instagram of this one. Angela asked for woodgrain quilting, so I sketched out an idea and then free-motion quilted it on. She wanted woodgrain, but not too dense, so the quilt was still soft and snuggly. I think the quilting achieved just that. It was really hard to capture the quilting on…

Modern Maples + Modern Feathers
I was going through my photos of my longarm quilting today and realized there are a lot of quilts that I haven’t shared here yet. I’m not exaggerating when I say “a lot”. I am pretty good about sharing photos on Instagram as I’m working on a quilt, but it’s usually only a sneak peek, and I don’t always share every quilt I work on. I need to be better about that, though. This is my business and how does…

Painted Basket Quilt
This pattern can now be purchased here! A few weeks ago Art Gallery Fabrics emailed to see if I would be interested in creating something with Katarina Roccella’s new line, Imprint. I really like Katarina’s designs, but I’m sure you have noticed from my last few quilts, I tend to go for lighter colored fabrics that have very little in the way of saturated color, and Katarina’s fabrics never lack for beautifully saturated colors. I almost said no because of…

AGF Stitched // Fractal Quilt
Once again, I was so pleased to be asked to participate in the AGF Stitched series. This time around we used the Kites Plus Ruler by Creative Grids to create the Fractal Quilt (this link takes you to the free pattern). Despite there being quite a few Y-seams, the quilt went together ridiculously fast! It ended up taking me two days, but only because I got a late start cutting on the first day, otherwise it could easily be made in…

Quilting Anna’s < > Quilt
Today i’m sharing photos of Anna’s < > Quilt from her new book Handmade Style. I just love the simplicity of this quilt! It’s so “Dutch Modern” to me, and perfectly fits Anna’s style. I wasn’t at all surprised when I pulled this top out to quilt. Anna and I talked briefly about the pattern and both arrived at this simple design. The design is a simple repeat that I drew up in AutoSketch and had the Statler (computer) quilt out.…

Quilting Up and Down
Today I wanted to share with you the quilting I did on Anna Graham’s “Up and Down” quilt in her newly released book – Handmade Style: 23 Must-Have Basics to Stitch, Use and Wear. Without a doubt, I knew this quilt had to have a custom quilting, not just in style but the designs as well. Every bit of quilting was designed by me and drawn up in AutoSketch (which is a CAD program I use to draft my quilting designs).…

Quilting A Meadow Quilt
This is going to be a picture heavy post today. More often than not lately it seems i’m doing a lot of “custom” quilting. What that usually entails is a few different designs in different places on the quilt, some quilts more intricate than others. This quilt happened to be my favorite type of custom quilting, the kind where a client says “Do whatever you want! Surprise me!” We talk a little about the density and where they would like…
