Another year of AGF Stitched has started up! If you aren’t familiar with AGF Stitched, it’s a collaboration between Art Gallery Fabrics and Fat Quarter Shop. Each quarter a group of select bloggers makes a set pattern with Art Gallery Fabrics of our choosing, and Fat Quarter Shop puts together a video tutorial for making the quilt. Our first quilt for this year is the Blithe Quilt, which is available as a free download at Fat Quarter Shop.

AGF Stitched // Locket Quilt
I’m a week late posting my AGF Stitched quilt for the last quarter of 2015. December threw me for a loop, not least of which was because I had a horrible flu that just wouldn’t go away. Despite all of that, I was able to finish the 4th quilt in the AGF Stitched series. It’s the Locket Quilt pattern (a free download) designed to feature Amy Sinibaldi’s new fabric line for Art Gallery Fabrics (which I just love). For my…

Quilted Christmas Tree Skirt
** Modern Christmas Tree Skirt Workshop on December 5th at Modern Domestic!** This has to be one of the most requested patterns i’ve ever had. Since I first made this tree skirt for a Flickr swap years ago I have gotten many emails requesting a pattern for it. I always had intentions of put it together, but just never got to it. I finally decided it needed to be done. I really wanted to do something outside of the box…

Modern Feathers Class
Next month i’ll be teaching a Modern Free-Motion Feathers class at Modern Domestic on their new Bernina Q24 longarm! If you have a midarm or longarm machine, or like to rent time on the longarm at the shop, and have wanted to learn the basics of quilting feathers, this is the class for you! We will start at the very beginning, learning how to form a basic feather spine and petal and from there branch out to learn just…

Quilting A Traveling Quilt
Today i’m sharing another quilt quilted with the Gingersnap pattern. It’s such a nice, versatile pattern on quilts. This is Heather O’Brian’s Instagram Traveling Quilt, made with contributions from several other gals in their group (she blogged about the top here). It was amazing to see in person, so bright and cheerful! My favorite kind of quilts to work on. Just walking into my studio and seeing something so colorful on my frame puts a big smile on my…

Quilting Cheerios
A few months before I quilted Angela’s fox quilt, I quilted her Cheerio quilt. I loved all of her fabric choices, and while this was the first time i’d seen this quilt pattern, I thought the fabrics worked perfectly with it. It’s a Thimble Blossom pattern, and when I think of Angela’s style, I can’t help but think of Camille Roskelley, too. I gave Angela a few designs to choose from, that I thought would work well for the quilting of…

Quilting Foxes
I quilted this adorable fox quilt back in April for Angela. It is baby size, and was such a fast quilt, that I didn’t even get anything on Instagram of this one. Angela asked for woodgrain quilting, so I sketched out an idea and then free-motion quilted it on. She wanted woodgrain, but not too dense, so the quilt was still soft and snuggly. I think the quilting achieved just that. It was really hard to capture the quilting on…

Modern Maples + Modern Feathers
I was going through my photos of my longarm quilting today and realized there are a lot of quilts that I haven’t shared here yet. I’m not exaggerating when I say “a lot”. I am pretty good about sharing photos on Instagram as I’m working on a quilt, but it’s usually only a sneak peek, and I don’t always share every quilt I work on. I need to be better about that, though. This is my business and how does…

Painted Basket Quilt
This pattern can now be purchased here! A few weeks ago Art Gallery Fabrics emailed to see if I would be interested in creating something with Katarina Roccella’s new line, Imprint. I really like Katarina’s designs, but I’m sure you have noticed from my last few quilts, I tend to go for lighter colored fabrics that have very little in the way of saturated color, and Katarina’s fabrics never lack for beautifully saturated colors. I almost said no because of…
